Using feature phones to revolutionize banking.
An informational website for nonprofit execs.
On this project for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, I worked as design lead and web developer to create an informational website to disseminate information to nonprofit staff about a project to create a phone-based banking system in the developing world.
I worked with the other developer to choose a CMS for this website based on the customer's need to be able to update this site with little techinical knowledge. We ended up choosing WordPress and learned PHP on a very tight timeframe to complete the project on time. To add to the complexity, I designed the UX while choosing or building widgets to support the desired features since the schedule did not allow for a full custom build-out.
During this project I learned a lot about web security and differences in rendering between browser engines. I also did a fair amount of research in to global browser useage statistics, since the product was intended for a worldwide audience.
