Rethinking sports apps.
Leading a team of developers as a designer.
For NBA Game Time, we had a host of challenges that brought out the best in everyone involved. We put together a bifurcated development team to work on Xbox One and Xbox 360 simultaneouly, with only a single dedicated designer. The other senior developers on the team had never developed for Xbox One before, so I was elected the technical lead for that platform as well as a part-time designer.
This situation redefined boundaries between what consitutes development versus design, and allowed me the opportunity to have other developers test the UX development systems and framework for Xbox One I'd been refining for the better part of a year. This gave me valuable feedback in to developing UX frameworks, and the opportunity to be a technical lead on a development team gave me great insights in to leadership and areas of development I'd never previously experienced.
