I worked with the HBO team to deliver the Xbox One version of the HBO Now app.
This was the first time my team used TypeScript, a static typed superset of JavaScript developed by Microsoft. We worked together and collaborated frequently to help everyone succeed in learning this new (to us) language, and I was excited to mentor the junior developers on the team on best practices for keeping application-scale CSS manageable.
The HBO design team provided us with several vidoes outlining animations and transitions for the app, as well as atomic design elements and their placement on screen. Using this information I derived a system in modern CSS3 using flexboxes, nth-child, and many more fun features to support the constantly-changing content in the app.
